Troubleshooting Your Preset

Problem: Not seeing changes to your photos after pasting the settings onto your preset.

The most likely reason for is due to our preset setting values being removed from the preset file. Without the settings values, which defines the color and tone of the preset, there will be no changes to your photos when you paste them. This can happen due to several possible reasons. Let’s go through each and identify which one pertains to you:

1. Did you upload the entire zip file and upload it to Google Drive? Please double check. It is known that Google Drive will wipe out the preset setting values from our DNG mobile preset when you unzip the zip file straight from Google Drive.

How to fix: Delete the zip file off of Google Drive. Delete all copies of the DNG mobile preset file from your Google Drive, Lightroom mobile app, Camera Roll. Go back to your computer and re-upload only the DNG mobile preset file.

2. Did you double-click on the DNG mobile preset file on your computer. This sometimes will wipe out the preset setting values.

How to fix: Delete all copies of the DNG mobile preset file from your Google Drive, Lightroom mobile app, Camera Roll. Go back to your computer and re-upload only the DNG mobile preset file. Go back to your computer and unzip the zip file again to get a fresh copy of the DNG mobile preset file. Then re-upload it Google Drive.

3. If none of the above pertains to you, then it could be that something in your Google Drive or your phone that removes that preset setting values.

How to fix: If you have an iPhone and Mac, you can Airdrop the DNG mobile preset from your computer to your iPhone. You can save it the camera roll OR as it as a file in your iCloud Drive, and then import it in the Lightroom mobile app. Make sure that you delete all the previous versions of the DNG mobile preset file off your Lightroom mobile app and camera roll.

If you don’t have an iPhone and Mac and not able to Airdrop, please delete all copies of the DNG mobile preset file off your Lightroom app and camera roll, then do a screen video recoding of you saving the mobile preset from Google Drive and all the way to importing it into Lightroom and copying and pasting the settings. See the video below as an example. Email that video to us so that we can review and see where the issues may lie.
